InStep Strollers – Which InStep Stroller is BEST for You?

InStep Strollers offer high-end features at a low price. They pride themselves on offering strollers that not only measure up to your expectations of performance, comfort, and convenience, but by offering great value as well.

There are several different styles of InStep Strollers. Some are designed for strolling, some are designed for jogging, and some are designed for running. Whether you have one little one, or two little ones, there is an InStep Stroller just for you.

Below I’ve listed some of the most popular InStep Strollers, as well as links to my full in-depth reviews.

InStep Strollers

InStep Grand Safari Stroller

InStep Stroller - Grand Safari Swivel Wheel Jogger - Gray/Yellow

InStep Grand Safari Swivel Wheel Jogger

The Grand Safari InStep Stroller comes equipped with a 12″ front swiveling wheel that also locks into a fixed wheel position for light jogging. It’s the perfect combination of comfort, convenience, and function. This InStep Stroller offers two 16″ rear wheels, and an exposed spring air suspension system that smooths out any terrain. And even though the frame is made from high-strength steel, it still only weighs 31 pounds.  This InStep Stroller offer tons of extra’s, like the built-in MP3 speaker that allows you and your little to listen to tunes on the trail. It also comes equipped with a faux lambskin seat pad for added warmth and comfort, as well as an adjustable sun shade. Did I mention that this InStep Stroller also offers a reclining seat, parent tray with cup holders, and a pivoting child’s tray with cup holders. And my favorite feature would definitely have to be the remote lock for the front wheel positioned conveniently on the handle bar. InStep Stroller - Grand Safari Double JoggerYou can get the InStep Grand Safari Swivel Jogger on SALE at Amazon for $148.00.

For more information, check out the InStep Grand Safari Swivel Jogger Review.

You can also get the InStep Grand Safari Swivel Wheel Double Jogger on SALE at Amazon for $207.53. This InStep Stroller has all the same features as the Grand with an extra seat.

InStep Safari Stroller

InStep Stroller - Safari Swivel Jogger

Instep Safari Swivel Jogger

The InStep Safari Stroller is just one step down from the Grand. It offers many of the same features, like the swiveling 12″ front wheel and 16″ rear wheels. This InStep Stroller also offers a large under-seat storage basket, adjustable handle bar, parent tray, child’s tray, and canopy. It also offers the same 50 pound weight recommendation. Now, this InStep Stroller weighs about 5 pounds less than the Grand, but also doesn’t offer all the extra’s. No speaker sound system, no high-tech suspension system, and no faux lambskin seat pad. It does offer a removable, machine washable seat pad in its place, which I think is easier. All in all, this InStep Stroller gets the job done at an extremely low price. You can get the InStep Safari Stroller on SALE at Amazon for $125.99.

InStep Flash Fixed Wheel Jogger

InStep Stroller - Flash Fixed Wheel Jogger

InStep Flash Fixed Wheel Jogger

The InStep Flash is a running stroller, designed for the serious runner. It offers a 16″ fixed front wheel.  This is the best set-up for running. This InStep Stroller is built for performance, offering 16″ pneumatic tires all around, with molded rims. It also offers a hand brake, which is extremely important to have on a running stroller. This InStep Stroller’s hand brake is a lot like one you’d find on a bicycle, very simple to use. The InStep Flash is the newest version of the old InStep Run Around LTD, which has been discontinued. The only thing it doesn’t have, is rear shocks, but it does come with a molded parent tray with cup holders. This InStep Stroller weighs 23.81 pounds, and is currently on SALE at Amazon for $105.09.

InStep Stroller - Run Around 2 Double Jogger

InStep Run Around 2 Double

This InStep Stroller also comes as a double. It’s called the InStep Flash Fixed Wheel Double Jogger, and it’s currently on SALE at Amazon for $133.99.

Now, the older, discontinued version of the InStep Run Around Double is still on sale at Amazon. I personally like this Double Jogger better because it has rear shocks. It’s the InStep Run Around 2 Double Jogger on SALE for $137.99.

Baby Jogger Summit XC Vs. InStep Grand Safari Swivel Jogger

Baby Jogger Summit Vs. InStep Grand SafariWhen it comes to comparing swivel jogging strollers, the Baby Jogger Summit and the InStep Grand Safari are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Even though they both offer the same general swivel jogger design, they’re really not in the same playing field. Let me explain.

Similarities:

First of all, both the InStep Grand Safari and the Baby Jogger Summit offer a front 12-inch locking swivel wheel, and 16-inch rear quick-release wheels. The tires are all pneumatic, in other words, air filled. Both swivel joggers also offer lightweight aluminum frames, under-seat storage baskets, 5-point child safety harness’s, parking brakes, and reflectors.

Differences:

Baby Jogger Summit XC Single Stroller

Baby Jogger Summit @ Amazon $391.24

Let’s start with perhaps the biggest difference, the price. The InStep Grand Safari lists for anywhere around $135.00 to $200.00, depending on the color scheme. The Baby Jogger Summit lists for $399.99, that’s about $200 dollars more! So why does the Baby Jogger Summit costs so much more?

It could be the patented all-wheel independent suspension system, or maybe the hand-operated rear drum brakes. Maybe it’s the retractable sun shade that protects from every angle, or maybe it’s the reclining seat that reclines to a near flat position. The Baby Jogger Summit is the essence of quality, and offers one of the most sophisticated designs on the market today. It also offers a max weight capacity of 75 pounds, as opposed to the InStep Grand Safari’s 50 pounds. 25 pounds could mean another two to three years of use. The Baby Jogger Summit also offers a patented quick fold design that folds in one simple step, one-handed even.

InStep Grand Safari Swivel Jogger

InStep Grand @ Amazon for $148.98

Now I’m not saying that the InStep Grand Safari doesn’t have anything to offer, because it actually offers more extra’s than most swivel joggers. For instance, it offers a molded parent tray with two cup holders, and pivoting child tray with two cup holders, an adjustable handlebar, and an MP3 speaker that allows you and your little one to listen to tunes on the trail. It also offers a spring-air suspension system, faux lambskin seat pad for extra warmth, reclining seat, and adjustable sun shade. So you see, the InStep Grand Safari has a lot to offer as well, but it doesn’t have the high-end quality that the Baby Jogger Summit does.

As far as reviews go, both swivel joggers did really well. The InStep Grand Safari had 39 out of 49 reviewers rate it 4 to 5 stars, with 5 being the max. In other words, 80% of the reviewers were extremely satisfied with their purchase. The Baby Jogger Summit had 22 out of 27 reviewers rate it 4 to 5 stars, that’s 81% customer satisfaction.

All in all, both of these swivel joggers are well worth their price. In you’re still undecided, check out the full reviews listed below.

Baby Trend Expedition Stroller Vs. InStep Safari GrandIn comparison, the Baby Trend Expedition Stroller and the Instep Safari Grand have many similarities, however, there are a few key differences that may help you decide which is the best swivel jogger for you and your little one.

Similarities:

As for the differences, the Baby Trend Expedition Stroller offers an infant car seat adapter (accepts Baby Trend infant car seat sold separately), and a tire pump. The Instep Safari Grand offers a faux lambskin seat pad for added warmth, and a built-in MP3 speaker. The Baby Trend Expedition Stroller offers a padded handle bar with remote release for the locking swivel wheel. The Instep Safari Grand also offers a remote release, but the handle bar is adjustable. The Baby Trend Expedition Stroller costs $148.98, whereas the Instep Safari Grand costs around $125.00.

As for customer feedback, most were extremely pleased with their purchases. The most loved features on the Baby Trend Expedition Stroller was the adjustable canopy, reclining seat, and remote release. Reviewers also raved about the Instep Safari Grand’s adjustable handle bar, and comfortable reclining seat.

InStep Grand Safari Swivel Wheel Jogger - Gray/Yellow

InStep Grand Safari Swivel Wheel Jogger

The Baby Trend Expedition Stroller did have a few complaints regarding the front wheel being wobbly, and the Instep Safari Grand had a few complaints about the front tire being a pain to air up, either way the pros seemed to outweigh the cons.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the Baby Trend Expedition Stroller may cost more, but you also get the car seat adapter, tire pump, and remote release for the locking swivel wheel. On the other end of the spectrum, the Instep Safari Grand costs less, offers an MP3 speaker, adjustable handle bar, and faux lambskin seat pad. So now it’s up to you to decided  which features are more important to you. If you’re still undecided, check out the full reviews listed below.

Joovy Zoom 360 Vs. InStep Safari Grand Swivel Jogger

Joovy Zoom 360 Vs. InStep Safari GrandIf you’re looking for the best jogging stroller with a swivel wheel, and you’ve narrowed it down to just two jogging strollers, you’re already ahead of the game. Today’s market is flooded with so many different models and styles of jogging strollers, with so many different features, it’s hard to know what’s what. It all comes down to picking and choosing which features are most important to you.

I like to offer comparison reviews, mainly because when I’m interested in a product , it’s very rare that just one stands out, there could be 4 or 5, and if I’m lucky, only two. By comparing those two products side by side, I can determine which is the for me. So, if you just happen to be stuck between the Joovy Zoom 360 Jogging Stroller and the InStep Grand Safari Swivel Wheel Jogger, I can help you with your decision.

Similarities:

Joovy Zoom 360 Jogging Stroller - Blue

Joovy Zoom 360 Jogging Stroller

First of all, let’s take a look at what these two top rated jogging strollers have in common. Both the Joovy Zoom 360 and the InStep Grand Safari offer 16-inch rear pneumatic tires and a 12-inch front, locking swivel wheel. The Joovy Zoom design includes alloy rims, where as the InStep design includes molded rims (which seems to be a type of plastic). Both designs also include a parking brake, protective sun canopies (although the Joovy’s seems much larger), storage baskets, and a quick fold design. As for safety, both the Joovy Zoom and the InStep Grand come with 5-point adjustable child safety harness’s, and reflectors. The InStep Grand offers reflectors on the wheels, and the Joovy Zoom 360 comes with reflective stitching. As for additional similarities, there’s not much, except that they both come with parent trays. The InStep Grand offers a molded parent tray (again, molded=plastic) with two cup holders, and the Joovy Zoom offers a neoprene parent tray, also with two cup holders and a zippered pocket.

Differences:

Okay, we’ve got the similarities out of the way, let’s talk differences. The number ONE difference…….. is the price. The Joovy Zoom 360 Jogging Stroller has a listing price of $239.99, that’s $40 dollars more than the InStep Safari Grand’s listing price of $199.00. So……why does the Joovy Zoom 360 cost more? It could be because the frame itself is made out of 6061 aircraft grade aluminum, which just sounds impressive, but what does that mean? It means that the Joovy Zoom is extremely lightweight. In fact, the entire stroller weighs a total of 26.8 pounds, whereas the InStep Safari Grand weighs a whopping 33 pounds with its steel frame. Okay, so 6 pounds doesn’t seem like much, but when you factor in the weight of the Joovy Zoom’s shock absorbing suspension system, alloy rims opposed to the InStep’s plastic rims, and the fact that it holds 25 pounds more in weight, I think 6 pounds is a lot. That’s right, the InStep Safari Grand has a maximum weight limit of 50 pounds, and the Joovy Zoom 360 exceeds that weight limit by 25 pounds, making its total max weight 75 pounds.  That’s quite a bit if you think about it…..Anyways, moving on. The Joovy Zoom 360 also offers a 3-inch travel, which means it sits up much taller, which also means that the handle bar is taller. Now some people might not like that, especially if you’re short, no offense. The Joovy Zoom is also missing the rear axle, this allows for maximum stride length, in other words, if your swivel wheel is locked and you go for a jog, you can really get after it! Other features that the Joovy Zoom includes and the InStep Safari Grand doesn’t, a 3-position reclining seat, running leash, and a tire pump (for emergencies only).

InStep Grand Safari Swivel Wheel Jogger

InStep Grand Safari Swivel Wheel Jogger @ Amazon.com

The InStep Safari Grand has a few cards up its sleeve as well. For instance, the faux lambskin seat pad, which is extremely comfortable and warm. The rubberized, slip resistant, adjustable handle bars. The pivoting plastic child’s tray with 2 cup holders, and the built-in MP3 speaker that allows you and your little one to listen to tunes on the trail. As for the design, the InStep Safari Grand includes an exposed spring suspension system, as well as a remote locker for your swivel wheel, which is located on the handle bar (super handy).

Conclusion:

So, if you don’t mind spending the extra $40 dollars, the Joovy Zoom 360 Jogging Stroller is made from higher quality materials, provides an exceptionally smooth ride, gives you an extra 25 pounds of max weight, weighs about 6 pounds less, includes a reclining seat, a running leash, and tire pump (for emergencies only). For those of you who are not as impressed with the 6061 aircraft aluminum frame as I am, and feel that the adjustable, slip-resistant handle bar, child tray, built-in MP3 speaker, and remote locker sound more impressive, than the InStep Safari Grand Swivel Wheel Jogger is more your speed.  All in all, both of these jogging strollers are an excellent buy. Keep in mind, the manufacturer’s recommend that neither one be used on a baby younger than 6 months. They must be able to fully support their own head before they are considered to be “safe for transport”. I hope that helps, GOOD LUCK!

The Joovy Zoom 360 is currently on sale @ Amazon for $215.00

The InStep Safari Grand is currently on sale @ Amazon for $116.81
