Joovy Zoom ATS Review:
What I Love
HUGE Canopy – This Joovy Stroller comes with Joovy’s signature over-sized canopy. I love it! It offers plenty of coverage, plus you get the covered window and sun visor.
Multi-position Reclining Seat – It reclines flat enough so that it’s perfect for an infant. Plus the recline adjustment is smooth and easy to do one-handed. This is not something you’d normally think about, but when your little one falls asleep, having the ability to recline them without waking them is kind of a plus. Some running strollers are less than smooth, but no this Joovy Stroller.
HUGE Basket – It seems like everything on the Joovy Zoom ATS is huge, even the under-seat basket. You could actually jog to the grocery store, and bring back your groceries in this basket. Of course it’s only rated to carry like 6 or 7 pounds, so you can’t go overboard.
Parent Organizer and Extra’s – I don’t care that the parent organizer is neoprene and not plastic. I’m just so grateful that you don’t have to buy it separately! Plus, you also get a full rain cover, yet another accessory you’d normally have to purchase separately.
Suspension – The suspension system is great, it’s super smooth, no complaints about that.
Child Seat – This Joovy Stroller also comes with a well padded child seat. No slouching either! Plus you get two mesh pockets on the inside for toys, snacks, or sippey cups.
The Price – The Joovy Zoom ATS is affordable! It’s half the price of other high-end running strollers. Plus, the basket is bigger, the canopy is bigger, you get the parent organizer, and the rain cover.
What I Don’t Like
Tire Pump – It’s nice that they included a tire pump, too bad it’s next to worthless. Not a deal breaker, just annoying.
Seat Back Height – This is a common problem on all jogging strollers. The seat back height on the Joovy Zoom ATS is 20″. It’s not enough room. If you have a tall toddler, their head may touch the canopy, and eventually, you won’t be able to use the canopy. This is annoying, especially considering that one of the selling points is the 75 pound weight capacity. So, if you have an older child, this running stroller may not be the best choice.
As far as reviews go, the Joovy Zoom ATS did pretty good. I read through the reviews on Amazon, at Joovy’s home page, and at Babies R US. With 56 out of 67 reviewers rating it 4 to 5 stars, that’s about an 84% customer satisfaction rating. The most loved features were definitely the HUGE canopy, the smooth ride, the parent organizer, and the large storage basket underneath. Most were pretty satisfied with the performance as well. I personally feel like the rating should have been a little bit higher, but there were a few reviewers that gave it a low star rating because it was hard to turn. This Joovy Stroller has a fixed front wheel for a reason, and that’s because it’s a running stroller.
As far as real complaints are concerned, most mirrored my own. The only other complaints were regarding the weight and the size. This Joovy Stroller is BIG! It weighs 26.8 pounds, which is definitely not the lightest, but it’s not the heaviest either. It’s also tall and wide. In fact the handle bar measures 42″ from the ground and it’s not adjustable, so if you are shorter than average, this may be a bit tall for you. The Joovy Zoom ATS is wide for stability on the trail, however, if you plan to use it at your local shopping mall, this may be a problem. This Joovy Stroller is designed for running outdoors, not shopping. So make sure you buy it with the right intentions.
Also, there were quite a few complaints about the tires going flat, which concerns me. Joovy recommends filling your tires up to 35 PSI, no more. I fear that maybe the tires were filled too much to begin with, which could have caused leaking, but I’m not really sure. To remedy this, a couple of the reviewers just bought tougher tubes. Keep in mind, having even air pressure in all three tires keeps you moving in a straight line. If the tire pressure is uneven, it may cause your stroller to drift one direction or the other.
