BOB Sport Utility Vs. Baby Jogger FIT – Best High Performance Jogger

BOB Sport Utility vs Baby Jogger FITThe BOB Sport Utility and the Baby Jogger FIT are both considered to be high performance, top of the line, running strollers. They offer the same basic design, with three 16-inch tires, fixed front wheels, running leashes, hand brakes, and foot activated parking brakes. Both also offer multi-position canopies with a peek-a-boo windows, reclining seats, under seat storage baskets, and additional storage compartments on the back of the seats. The BOB Sport Utility costs roughly $290.00, and so does the Baby Jogger FIT.

Differences:

Baby Jogger FIT

BOB Sport Utility vs Baby Jogger FIT

Baby Jogger FIT

The Baby Jogger FIT offers a 75 pound weight capacity, 5 pounds more than the BOB Sport Utility. It also offers an advanced hand caliper braking system for more control on steep terrain. The handle bar is ergonomic with a wipe clean grip, and it comes with a patented universal accessory mounting bracket that will allow you to accessorize with ease. The only other thing that makes the Baby Jogger FIT special is the patented quick-fold design that allows you to fold it in one simple step, one handed even. It has a decent customer satisfaction rating of about 78%, which is not bad compared to most running strollers. What bothers me most about the Baby Jogger FIT is the fact that it has no suspension system. It is not designed for off-road use, only pavement running, therefore you get semi-slick tire tread.

BOB Sport Utility

BOB Sport Utility Vs Baby Jogger FIT

BOB Sport Utility

The BOB Sport Utility offers a smooth coil spring suspension system, as well as adjustable shock absorbers that allow you to control the softness based on occupancy and terrain. It also offers an adjustable tracking knob, making it easy to correct any drifting problems. The BOB Sport Utility is designed for running on all terrain, especially off-road. It offers fat, knobby tire tread, designed to grip just about anything. As far as customer satisfaction goes, the BOB Sport Utility did excellent. With 24 out of 28 reviewers rating it 4 to 5 stars, that’s an 86% customer satisfaction rating!

Conclusion:

If you really have your heart set on the Baby Jogger FIT, make sure you only plan on running on pavement, because otherwise it will get pretty rough for your little one. Aside from that, I’d have to say that it is a nice running stroller, not my favorite, but it’s nice. And just so that the record shows, I’m not a pavement runner, so my opinion may be a bit one-sided. The name, FIT, means For Intermediate Training. So if you’re pretty serious about your running, whether it’s for training purposes or fitness purposes, then the Baby Jogger FIT may be the best running stroller for you. You can get it at Amazon for $299.99.

The BOB Sport Utility is for those that like to lead an adventurous lifestyle. It offers a smoother ride, and more adjust ability. If you prefer off-road trails, then this is the running stroller for you. The BOB Sport Utility is currently on sale at Amazon for $288.09, 24% OFF.

BOB Sport Utility Vs. Jeep Overland Stroller – Best Running Stroller

BOB Sport Utility vs Jeep Overland StrollerComparing the BOB Sport Utility Stroller to the Jeep Overland Stroller may seem a little silly, but in all actuality, they offer similar designs, and there’s only about a hundred dollar price difference. Besides, it’s nice to know what exactly you’re spending that extra hundred dollars on, and whether or not it’s necessary.

Both the BOB Sport Utility and the Jeep Overland Stroller offer the basic running stroller set-up, including three 16-inch tires, hand brakes, foot-activated parking brakes, tether straps, 5-point child safety harness’s, and suspension systems. Both running strollers also offer padded, multi-position reclining seats, adjustable canopies, and under-seat storage baskets. Both the BOB Sport Utility and the Jeep Overland Stroller also offer lightweight aluminum frames and weigh about the same, 26 pounds. So, what’s the difference, and why does the BOB Sport Utility cost so much more?

Differences:

BOB Sport Utility Stroller

BOB Sport Utility Vs Jeep Overland Stroller

BOB Sport Utility Stroller – Orange

Well first of all, the BOB Sport Utility doesn’t just offer a smooth ride, it offers an adjustable smooth ride. With its state-of-the-art coil spring suspension system, and adjustable shock absorbers, you can decide how smooth the ride should be based on seat occupancy and terrain. It also offers a handy feature called the adjustable tracking knob, which always keeps you moving in a straight line. The BOB Sport Utility is quality built, offering only the best of materials. The wheels are high-impact polymer composite, which is basically a super strong plastic guaranteed never to break, and the tires are pneumatic, aka air-filled. The tires are wide with fat knobby tread that will give you traction no matter where you take it. In addition, the BOB Sport Utility also offers a maximum weight recommendation of 70 pounds, which is one of the highest. In other words, you can use this running stroller for a long time! Did I mention that the BOB Sport Utility also has the highest customer satisfaction rating out of all the running strollers listed on Amazon? With 24 out of 28 reviewers rating it  4 to 5 stars, that’s an 86% customer satisfaction rating!

Jeep Overland Stroller

BOB Sport Utility Vs Jeep Overland Stroller

Jeep Overland Stroller

Now, the Jeep Overland Stroller is also quality built, but it doesn’t offer the same super expensive, high quality materials. The wheels are more like bicycle tires with spokes instead of high performance plastics. The tires are also pneumatic, air-filled, and the tread is also pretty knobby, just not quite as knobby or wide as the BOB Sport Utility. The Jeep Overland Stroller does offer a suspension system, but it’s not near as smooth as the coil spring suspension system on the BOB. Oh, and you can only use it up to 45 pounds, which is 25 pounds less than the BOB. Okay, so the BOB Sport Utility is sounding better and better, but don’t count the Jeep Overland Stroller out just yet. It may not shine on the show room floor, but it does have a few cards up its sleeve.

BOB Sport Utility Vs Jeep Overland StrollerFor instance, the Smart Handle which adjusts to multiple heights and angles, HUGE plus! Then there’s the parent tray with two bottle holders and an items compartment. The child’s snack tray with a cup holder, and the pedometer that tracks your speed and distance. Did I mention the iBaby sound system? Seriously, you get a lot of extra’s with the Jeep Overland Stroller. These extra’s would probably cost you another hundred bucks to buy as accessories to the BOB Sport Utility.

Conclusion:

In the end, you have to ask yourself whether the adjustable tracking, adjustable shock absorbers, coil spring suspension system, and extra 25 pound weight capacity is really worth the extra money. If these are things you just can’t live without, then I would have to say that the BOB Sport Utility is the best running stroller for you. You can get it on sale at Amazon for $288.09, 24% OFF.

Now, don’t get me wrong, if I had the extra money to spend I’d probably go with the BOB myself, but the fact is…..I don’t. I’m sure I’m not the only one either. There is one thing I’d like to point out though. The Jeep Overland Stroller didn’t do near as good in the customer satisfaction department. With 70 out of 107 reviewers rating it 4 to 5 stars, that’s about a 65% customer satisfaction rating. The biggest complaints were regarding the front wheel drifting from side to side. Now a lot of this was probably due to the fact that the tires weren’t evenly aired up, or the front tire was not positioned correctly on the front fork. Some reviewers even blasted it for not being a swiveling wheel, which I personally think is absurd. It’s a running stroller, the front wheel is fixed for a reason. My point is, the Jeep Overland Stroller is well built and it’s reasonably priced, so if you don’t have the extra money for the BOB Sport Utility, then the Jeep is an excellent choice! You can get it on sale at Amazon for $195.00, 19% OFF.

BOB Ironman Stroller Vs. BOB Sport Utility Stroller. What’s different?

BOB Ironman Stroller Vs. BOB Sport Utility StrollerWhen it comes to choosing a fixed wheel jogging stroller, aka running stroller, BOB Strollers are at the top of the list for ratings, features, and reviews. So if you find yourself comparing the BOB Ironman Stroller and the BOB Sport Utility Stroller, I might be able to help.

The BOB Ironman and the BOB Sport Utility have several features in common, however, there are a few key differences that set them apart.

Similarities

BOB Ironman Stroller Vs. BOB Sport Utility Stroller

BOB Ironman Stroller

First of all, let’s take a look at the similarities. Both the BOB Ironman and the BOB Sport Utility Strollers offer all of the favorite features that we’ve come to expect from BOB, including the state-of-the-art coil spring suspension system, adjustable shock absorbers, and adjustable tracking that give you all the control you need. Both BOB Strollers offer the fixed front wheel which is best for running, or traversing rough terrain. Both the BOB Ironman and the BOB Sport Utility also offer ultra-padded seats with recline, padded handlebars with wrist straps that double as fold locks, handbrakes, 2-step fold designs, parking brakes, and the same amount of storage. So, what’s the difference?

Differences

BOB Sport Utility Vs BOB Ironman

BOB Sport Utility Stroller

The BOB Ironman Stroller is designed for running, mostly on paved streets or sidewalks. The wheels are lightweight alloy, and the tires are pneumatic with tubes, kind of like bicycle tires with semi-slick tread. They make the BOB Ironman fast and durable. Pneumatic is just another way of saying, air-filled tire.

The BOB Sport Utility Stroller is designed specifically for rough terrain. The wheels are high-impact polymer composite, and the tires are knobby pneumatic with tubes. The high-impact polymer is basically a super strong plastic that’s been formulated for strength and durability. The knobby tread allows you to go anywhere, whether it’s a rough trail in the woods, or a run through down town.

Also, the BOB Ironman Stroller weighs less, with a total weight of 23 pounds, it’s about 3 pounds lighter than the BOB Sport Utility Stroller.

Price

Aside from that, the only other difference is price. The BOB Ironman Stroller lists for $409.00, and the BOB Sport Utility Stroller lists for $379.00. When it comes to finding the best sale on either BOB Stroller, Amazon seems to be the place to be. Below I’ve listed the current sale prices for both BOB Strollers. The Best Running Stroller For The Right Price

BOB Ironman Running Stroller

BOB Ironman @ Amazon for $312.99

Generally when you ask a question like, “what’s the best running stroller”, a straight answer would be hard to come by. The reason for this is that there are several “BEST” running strollers, not just one. It all depends on how much money you’re willing to spend, and what kind of features are most important to you.

Let’s take a closer look at a few different running strollers, see what features you like best, and what price range is most comfortable.

The Best Running Strollers

I’m going to start at the top and work my way down. In first place we have the BOB Ironman. Now a few people out there may argue that the Baby Jogger F.I.T is the best for this price range, but I have my reasons. First and foremost, the BOB Ironman offers a smooth coil spring suspension system, adjustable tracking that keeps you running in a straight line, as well as adjustable shock absorbers that can be adjusted according to the terrain, or weight of the child.

BOB Sport Utility Running Stroller

BOB Sport Utility @ Amazon for $288.09

The Baby Jogger F.I.T. doesn’t offer any shocks, which means that it’s not near as smooth, but it does offer 5 pounds more weight capacity, with a maximum weight capacity of 75 pounds verses the Ironman’s 70 pounds. However, the BOB Ironman only weighs 23 pounds, and the lighter the running stroller, the better the performance.

I also want to mention the BOB Sport Utility Running Stroller, which also features the fixed front wheel. In fact, it offers everything that the Ironman offers, except that it has big fat knobby tire tread as opposed to smooth racing slicks. It’s designed for more of an off-road runner, rather than a marathon style runner. It also makes an excellent hiking stroller with super-man grip.

Now when I say top of the line, that also means top price. The BOB Ironman usually runs for about $409.00, however you can usually find it on sale at Amazon for around $315.00. Same with the BOB Sport Utility Stroller, which lists for $379.00 but is also frequently on sale for around $285.00.

Joovy Zoom ATS Fixed Wheel Jogging Stroller

Joovy Zoom ATS @ Amazon for $209.98

Now if those price tags scare you a little, let’s step down one level and take a look at the Joovy Zoom ATS. This running stroller doesn’t have the state-of-the-art adjustable tracking, or adjustable shock absorbers, but it does offer a nice suspension system. With shock absorbing suspension in the front, and an independent rear-wheel spring/air suspension in the rear, you can expect a smooth ride. It’s heavier than the BOB Ironman Stroller, but it also carries 5 pounds more, with a maximum weight capacity of 75 pounds. Another reason why I like the Joovy Zoom ATS is because it offers a taller handle bar, taller than any other running stroller on the market, and it’s missing the rear axle, so if you have a longer stride length when you’re running you won’t trip over the rear axle. Some say that Joovy Zoom ATS is only meant for taller people, but honestly, it’s all about your running comfort. The Joovy Zoom ATS regularly lists for $349.99, but you can usually find it on sale at Amazon for somewhere around $210.00.

Jeep Overland Limited Running Stroller @ Amazon

Jeep Overland @ Amazon for $197.17

Another running stroller that belongs at this level is the Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller. It costs about the same as the Joovy Zoom ATS, sometimes less if it’s on sale. Now, I really like both of these running strollers, but if I had my choice, I’d probably choose the Jeep Overland, let me explain why. First of all, the Jeep Overland offers a few more extra’s, like the MP3 speaker that enables you and your little one to listen to tunes on the trail, as well as the pedometer that tracks your speed and distance, extra storage, and a child snack tray. The Joovy Zoom ATS is more for someone that’s really serious about running, while the Jeep Overland Stroller is for someone who likes to run but get’s bored really easy, like me! The only problem is that the Jeep Overland will only carry up to 45 pounds, whereas the Joovy Zoom ATS will carry up to 75 pounds. That’s a big difference!

Schwinn Free Runner Jogging Stroller

Schwinn Free Runner @ Amazon for $169.99

If those prices still make you a little nervous, let’s step down one more level and take a look at the Schwinn Free Runner. It’s your basic run of the mill running stroller. It doesn’t offer a whole lot of bells and whistles, but it does get the job done! It comes with good sized canopy, a parent tray with two cup holders, and a padded reclining seat for the little one, as well as a few other basic features. Now, even though this running stroller probably won’t make you say “aaahhhh” when you’re pushing it down the road, your pocket book will thank you. You can usually get the Schwinn Free Runner on sale at Amazon for around $170.00.

So there you have it folks, these are the best running strollers. Now it’s up to you to decide which one is best for you.
